Brian J. Mazmanian, M.D.
Brian J. Mazmanian M.D., is a child and adult psychiatrist and Director of Framingham Psychiatric Counseling Associates. He has been providing psychotherapy to both adults and children since 1978. His special treatment interests are Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, anxiety disorders, chronic medical disorders and depression and mood disorders. Dr. Mazmanian also provides psychopharmacology consultations and diagnostic evaluations to adults and children for a variety of psychiatric conditions.
Dr. Mazmanian has consulted to local public and private schools, provided commentary and opinion to local newspapers and has given lectures on psychiatric topics in several public forums. He graduated from St. Louis University of Medicine in 1974, and completed his residency and fellowship at Boston University Medical Center and Tufts New England Medical Center. He is a member of the American Academy of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Mazmanian is an active member of the Academy Of Adolescent And Child Psychiatry.

Robert Barnes, Ph.D.
Robert Barnes Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist who has been with Framingham Psychiatric Counseling since its inception in 1977. Dr. Barnes worked for nearly twenty years at the Framingham Youth Guidance Center, providing individual therapy to children, adolescents, parents and adults, as well as doing couples therapy and family therapy. Dr. Barnes has also provided consultation to a number of public and private schools in the Metro west area.
Since 1991 Bob has worked at an adult inpatient long term care hospital and at a local high school consulting to a special education program that facilitates inclusion. Dr. Barnes offers an active problem-solving approach to illness, utilizing a number of different therapy orientations, including cognitive behavioral therapy, relaxation training-stress management, anger management and assertiveness training.

Daniele Bick, M.D.
Daniele Bick, M.D., is a geriatric psychiatrist with special expertise in the area of individual psychotherapy. She received her medical training at the Grenoble Medical University in France and did her psychiatric training at University Hospitals in Cleveland and in Boston.
Treating geriatric patients necessitates an understanding of mood disorders, anxiety disorders, insomnia, and memory-related issues. In addition to her work with the elderly, Daniele has interest in individual psychotherapy and couples therapy for adults of all ages. Dr. Bick also provides psychopharmacology consultation and medication management.

Deborah Cantor, Ph.D., LICSW
Deborah Cantor, Ph.D., LICSW, is a clinical social worker who has worked with adolescents, adults and couples since receiving her Masters of Social Work at Smith College School for Social Work in 1972. She earned her doctorate at Simmons College School for Social Work in 2001. Dr. Cantor taught clinical social work practice at both Simmons College and Boston University Schools of Social Work and supervised MSW students. She now teaches post-Masters degree social workers to prepare for the social work license exam.
Deborah sees adults of all ages in individual psychotherapy and couples therapy and has a special interest in the treatment of women's issues, coping with serious illness and the psychological issues surrounding grief and loss.

Peter J. Erines, Ph.D
Peter J. Erines, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist who has been on the staff of Framingham Psychiatric Counseling since 1985. Dr. Erines received his doctoral training at DePaul University in the field of child psychology and did a doctoral internship at South Shore Mental Health. Currently Peter is a supervising psychologist at South Shore Mental Health, as well as a practicing clinician at F.P.C.A.
Peter has expertise with children of all ages, with illnesses ranging from anxiety and depression to learning disabilities and Attention Deficit Disorder. Peter also sees adults of all ages in individual psychotherapy, as well as practicing family therapy.

Joseph LoCastro, Ph.D
Joseph LoCastro, Ph.D. Is a clinical psychologist who has been practicing in the Framingham area for over 20 years. His primary specialty areas are marital and couples therapy, alcohol and drug treatment, and manager advisor. He is active professionally in the areas of clinical practice, training, teaching, research, and management.
In addition to his practice in Framingham, his positions include: Acting Chief, Psychology Service, V.A. Boston Healthcare System; Associate Professor in Psychiatry, Boston University School of Medicine; and Associate Professor in Psychology, Boston University Graduate School. Dr. LoCastro received his doctoral degree from the University of Maryland. He is licensed in Massachusetts as a psychologist provider and is on the National Registry of Healthcare Providers in Psychology. He holds the Certificate of Proficiency in the Treatment of Alcohol and Other Psychoactive Substance Abuse Disorders from the American Psychological Association.

Susan LoCastro, L.I.C.S.W.
Susan LoCastro, L.I.C.S.W, has been a member of Framingham Psychiatric Counseling Associates for over 7 years, and a social worker since 1985. A graduate of Simmons College of Social Work, Susan also is a social worker in cardiology at the Boston V.A. Healthcare West Roxbury Hospital. Prior to this position, Susan worked with the geriatric population in nursing home-related patient care.
Susan sees adolescents and adults in individual psychotherapy and also does couples therapy. She has a special interest in anxiety disorders and geriatric care as well, and has Saturday appointments available.

Judith M. Maruca, APRN,BC
Judith M. Maruca, APRN,BC, is a psychiatric clinical nurse specialist in adult mental health. She received her MS in Psychiatric Nursing from The University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 1993. Judy was a founding member of Hampton Counseling Affiliates in Auburn and practiced there for many years. She has also worked as a full-time faculty member in the Nursing Department at Worcester State College and in the community as a hospice nurse and psychiatric clinician.
Ms. Maruca treats older adolescents and adults with a variety of mental health diagnoses including depression, anxiety, ADHD, alcoholism, grief and loss, and trauma. She is certified in EMDR levels 1 and 2. Ms. Maruca provides psychotherapy using a combination of psychodynamic and cognitive behavior approaches. She also provides psychopharmacology consultation and medication management.

Carol A. Mitchell, L.I.C.S.W.
Carol A. Mitchell, L.I.C.S.W. is a clinical social worker who provides individual and family therapy for adults, adolescents and children as young as five years old.
Carol received her bachelor's degree in sociology from Wheaton College (Illinois), and her Masters in Social Work (MSW) from Smith College School for Social Work. Carol has experience in mental health, adoption, foster care, residential treatment, and infertility counseling settings.
She currently is the School Adjustment Counselor at the West Elementary School in Andover, MA. Carol has particular expertise in issues of adoption, infertility, residential treatment and sexual abuse. Carol is an evangelical Christian with an understanding of spiritual issues for those who would incorporate that dimension in their mental health treatment.

E. David Mobley, MSW
David Mobley, MSW, is a graduate of the Harvard Diviinity School and Smith College School for Social Work, and has over twenty years of experience treating children and adults. David has consulted to schools, hospitals, residential and day treatment programs in his work in the Metrowest area.
His experience as a guidance counselor in the Natick Public Schools, has given him additional expertise in the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, the psychological implication for children with learning disabilities and social or developmental delays. In addition, David has a special interest in chronic illness and the unique issues surrounding adoption.

Virginia Merritt, MD
Virginia Merritt, MD, has been practicing at Framingham Psychiatric Counseling since 1994. Dr. Merritt is board certified in general psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry and forensic psychiatry. Currently Dr. Merritt sees patients on Mondays and Thursdays and has a practice that includes children, adolescents, and adults of all ages. Her clinical expertise includes depression, anxiety disorders, the autism spectrum, Bipolar Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
Dr. Merritt practices both individual psychotherapy and psychopharmacology consultation as well as medication management. Dr. Merritt has a non-traditional approach to psychiatric treatment and is often described as being casual and "down to earth".

Susan l. Pell, R.N., M.S., C.S.
Susan l. Pell, R.N., M.S., C.S., is a psychiatric nurse clinical specialist in adult mental health. Susan received her B.S. in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and her M.S. in Psychiatric Nursing from Boston University. Susan worked at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston as a staff nurse and then as the Head Nurse of the Inpatient Psychiatric Unit. She also worked as a psychiatric nurse clinical specialist at the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital before joining Framingham Psychiatric Counseling in 1980.
Susan treats adults for a wide spectrum of clinical disorders; including depression, anxiety and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. In addition to individual psychotherapy, Susan also provides psychopharmacology consultations and medication management.

Pamela Plucinski, MS, APRN, BC
Pamela Plucinski, MS, APRN, BC, is a Clinical Nurse Specialist, board certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She received her BS in Nursing from Rhode Island College and her MS in Psychiatric Nursing from Boston College. Pamela began her psychiatric nursing career at Bradley Hospital in Providence, RI in 1994, where she remains today as the Nurse Manager of the Adolescent Inpatient Program.
Pamela joined Framingham Psychiatric Counseling in October 2006. She treats children and adolescents experiencing a variety of symptoms, including mood instability, depression, anxiety and ADHD. In addition to individual and family psychotherapy Pamela also provides psychopharmacology consultations and medication management for children and adolescents.

Kathleen Richardson, LICSW
Kathleen Richardson, LICSW, is a psychiatric social worker who specializes in the psychotherapy of young children and developmental maturation issues in both children and adolescents. Kathleen also treats adults in individual psychotherapy for clinical symptoms related to anxiety or depression, as well as providing clinical and educational guidance to parent of difficult children.
Kathleen has worked in the clinical field of social work for 25 years and was trained at Tufts New England Medical Center, Simmons College and The Family Institute of Cambridge. She has significant experience treating children and adults with ADHD, mood disorders, post traumatic stress disorder and life transition stress.

Adele Cossin Sobel
Adele Cossin Sobel is a licensed independent clinical social worker, and a graduate of Radcliffe College and Simmons School of Social Work. She has served for a number of years as a Field Work Supervisor for Simmons College, Boston College, Boston University and Smith School of Social Work.
Adele has been a community mental health consultant to schools and agencies and has supervised the staff at the Framingham Youth Guidance Center. She has participated in research at The Harvard School of Public Health and has been on the staff of the Psychiatry Clinic at The Childrens Hospital Medical Center. Ms. Sobel has been treating adults in individual psychotherapy for over thirty years and has a particular interest in couples therapy.

Meenakshi Vemuri, M.D.
Meenakshi Vemuri, M.D., is a child and adolescent psychiatrist and provides psychopharmacology consultations and diagnostic evaluations to children, adolescents and adults. Her training in adult psychiatry is from Eastern Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute, formerly affiliated with Allegheny University Hospitals. Her child and adolescent psychiatric training is from Weill-Cornell Medical Center in Westchester, NY. Meenakshi's psychopharmacology fellowship training was at UMass Medical School in Worcester, MA.
Meenakshi is a member of the teaching faculty at UMass Medical Center and is involved in research as well. Her expertise in Depression and Mood Disorders allows patients to explore all the treatment options currently available. In addition, Dr. Vemuri is interested in Anxiety Disorders, Attention Deficit Hyper Activity Disorders and Eating Disorders.

Linda Weisberg
Linda Weisberg, LICSW, is a clinical social worker with expertise in mood and anxiety disorders, Attention Deficit Disorder, Pervasive Developmental Disorders, parent guidence, couples therapy, adolescent and adult development and aging.
A graduate of Cornell University and the University of Maryland School of Social Work, Ms. Weisberg has over 25 years of experience working with adolescents and adults of all ages in both agency and private practice settings. She completed post-graduate studies in aging at Boston University and provides clinical consultation to agencies that serve developmentally disabled children and adults.

Peter Zarkadas, LICSW
Peter Zarkadas, LICSW is a clinical social worker who has been providing psychotherapy and consultation services to adolescents and adults since 1988. Peter has a broad range of clinical interests which includes the treatment of anxiety, mood disorders, couples and family relationships, stress management, addictions, and working with artists and musicians on the creative process.
Peter is a graduate of Simmons College School of Social Work and has supervised many social work trainees and clinicians. Peter had worked in private practice and hospital based services and provided consultation to businesses, schools, youth and family agencies and long term care facilities

Gloria Fallon, PMHCNS-BC
Gloria Fallon, PMHCNS-BC is a board certified psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist in child and adolescent mental health. She received her MSN from Yale University School of Nursing with an emphasis on women, families, and children in 2001 where she was a Dean’s Leadership Scholar. Ms. Fallon received further training after graduation as the recipient of a Harvard Post Graduate Behavioral Health Fellowship at Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates in Quincy, MA. She has also worked at McLean Hospital and the Child Assessment Unit and Psychiatric Emergency Services at Cambridge Health Alliance in Cambridge, MA.
Ms. Fallon treats children age 6 and up including adolescents and adults. Her clinical interests include Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, mood disorders, anxiety, stress management, postpartum depression, and women’s issues. Gloria provides psychopharmacology consults, medication management, and C.B.T. Saturday morning appointments evening hours are available.
